Testimonial from Gareth Williams Location Manager BBC
You might be already aware that the larger broadcast organisations use children's TV amongst other things to help fulfil their political obligations to produce content in the nations & regions, and the show was up against competition from all over the UK.
So I'd like to record my gratitude to Shepherd Offshore for the important role they've played in supporting this kind of work here. Not only does it help recoup some of the £140m or so per year the region lays out on TV licences by employing technicians and getting production spend here, but it also cements professional relationships with central commissioning, is a fantastic springboard for new starters from the region and,in no small way, helps keep the city on the cutural map of Britain and beyond.
I know Shepherd Offshore recognise this. The help the Shepherds and their staff have extended to BBC Tracy Beaker Returns over the past two seasons shows a sophisticated and patient understanding of this industry's long term economic and cultural benefits to the region. Without their welcome it would have been a lot more difficult to achieve this level of success. La Sagesse has worked out as the perfect production base for Tracy Beaker Returns and Shepherd Offshore have managed developments with elan. On site we were able to develop reliable communications with the company that were dynamic, flexible and responsive as well as responsible. They've worked hard and smart over the last two seasons to keep the whole site in tip top condition for the benefit of users and neighbours now and in the future.
It's always a great pleasure ( a relief even) working with Shepherd Offshore and I look forward to working with you again soon,
