Engineering & Manufacturing have traditionally been strong features of the North East economy. Today over 130,000 employees are employed in the sector, accounting for 12.5% of the workforce, compared with 10.9% at the national level.

Around 62,000 people work in the engineering sector in North East England, accounting for almost 6% of all employees in the region.

 

   These include:
